Trend Setting With Trapeze Dresses

Trapeze dress trendsetting again

Trapeze dress is still one of those choices to make you look chic. Yeah, that is right; the clothing still continues to rock those fashion closets. This retro-style, comfortable yet flirty dress has remained to be one of the most to-die for, must-have apparel. It started to have its existence in the year 1950s and continued up to early 1960s. Just like other fashion trends, it began redeeming its popularity again in the 21st century.

This kind of dress is usually situated high at the neck, without sleeves, and flows out over the body in a trapezoid shape. Most style suggestions in the 1950s show that it is better worn with low shoes. Just for reference and to give a clearer view, a trapezoid is a quadrilateral consisting of two parallel lines of unequal length. This dress should not also be mistaken as being used in the circus and carnivals.

This dress may also be called tent dress, which is somewhat self-explanatory since the dress looks like a tent when worn, which is so because the hemline is broader than the upper part. While it is quite awkward for a woman who is into fashion to wear something that resembles a tent, it is the accurate way of describing a dress which tends to be quite voluminous in size. But not because it looks that way, it does not mean that it cannot keep up with the fashion standards. The person wearing should know the pointers on how to wear the dress properly. On the other hand, the so-called sack dress is another variety. This looks slightly narrower in the bottom edge and most of the time of equal length with that on the upper part of the dress.

Several fashion experts suggest that this dress is suitable for most figures of women. But while looking at the trapeze dress pattern when you consider buying one, make sure that you take note of the figure of the person who will be wearing it. Most of the time, those smaller framed women may look awkward as they are overwhelmed when they wear the dress. What is important is that the dress should fit appropriately to the person who is wearing it. Most suggest that the dress should just exactly wrap the body and should hit above the knee so as to avoid the drab or unattractive look.

As earlier mentioned, this kind of dress is very versatile since it fits almost every type of body. In addition to those normal size dresses, there is also the so-called plus-size trapeze dress which is not only suited for those with extra pounds, but also for those pregnant women who never neglects their part in the fashion world. As end note, it should always be remembered that a dress which looks beautiful on someone else or on many people may not always look good on other people. It all depends on the person and how she handles the kind of dress she is wearing.
